How much does UI/UX design cost in Dubai? An AED pricing guide

Real numbers for hiring a UI/UX designer, a freelancer or an agency in Dubai in 2026, in AED and USD, with the sources behind them and what drives the price.

UI/UX design in Dubai costs anywhere from a few thousand dirhams for a small freelance job to well over AED 100,000 for a full product designed by an agency. Most of that spread comes from three things: who does the work (an employee, a freelancer or an agency), how senior they are, and how much of the product is in scope. As a rough guide, the most common agency rate in the UAE is USD 50 to 99 an hour, about AED 184 to 364, and a mid-level in-house designer earns roughly AED 12,000 to 25,000 a month.

Below are the numbers behind those ranges, where they come from, and how to get a quote you can trust. Every figure has a source listed at the end, and we say plainly where the evidence is thin.

The short answer

Agency, premiumUSD 100 to 300 an hour (AED 367 to 1,102)Good: same snapshot
Agency minimum projectUSD 5,000 to 10,000 (AED 18,000 to 37,000) for most firmsGood: same snapshot

FreelancerAED 150 to 600+ an hourWeak: vendor guides only

The dirham is pegged at AED 3.6725 to the US dollar, so these conversions do not drift.

Hiring in-house: salaries

Salary data for designers in Dubai is patchy and the sources disagree, partly because job titles vary and partly because some sites mix monthly and yearly figures. Taken together, they point to these bands:

LevelMonthly salary (AED)What the sources show
Juniorabout 5,000 to 10,000Thinnest band. PayScale's early-career UX figure is around 6,000; Glassdoor and GulfTalent averages for UX designers sit around 7,000 to 8,000
Mid-levelabout 12,000 to 25,000Glassdoor's product designer middle range is about 12,800 to 28,100; recruiter guides quote 18,000 to 30,000 for UI/UX designers
Seniorabout 20,000 to 40,000Glassdoor's senior UX median is about 24,000; Levels.fyi, mostly tech companies, shows senior product designers around 25,750 to 38,000

Salary is not the full cost. UAE employers also cover the employee's visa, health insurance (mandatory in Dubai) and an end-of-service gratuity, plus recruitment and the months it takes to hire. A senior hire is the right answer when design is core to your company for years. It is a slow answer when you need a product designed this quarter.

Freelancers

Freelancing is common in Dubai, but published rates are the weakest data in this guide. The guides we found, written by platforms and agencies rather than independent researchers, suggest:

  • around AED 150 an hour for beginners
  • around AED 350 an hour for experienced freelancers
  • AED 600 an hour or more for experts

Treat these as indicative only. What is well documented is the cost of freelancing legally: Dubai's GoFreelance permit starts at about AED 7,500, and a first year including a residence visa runs about AED 15,000 to 18,000, according to The National. Freelancers price that into their rates.

A good freelancer is great value for a defined piece of work. The risks are capacity (one person, one pair of hands) and continuity if they take on another client.

Agencies

The most useful agency data comes from Clutch, which lists hourly rate bands and minimum project sizes for each firm. On its UAE UI/UX list on 1 October 2026, 49 firms showed a rate:

Hourly rate bandFirmsIn AED
Under USD 254under 92
USD 25 to 491692 to 180
USD 50 to 9919184 to 364
USD 100 to 1495367 to 547
USD 150 to 1993551 to 731
USD 200 to 3002735 to 1,102

Minimum project sizes on the same list: 6 firms start at USD 1,000, 20 at USD 5,000, 14 at USD 10,000, 6 at USD 25,000 and 3 at USD 50,000. Two caveats: some firms listed under the UAE are international studios with a Dubai office, and directory rankings include sponsored placements, so use the list for price ranges, not for picking a winner.

What drives the price

Two quotes for "an app" can differ by ten times. These are the usual reasons:

  • Scope. The number of flows and screens, and whether research, a design system and prototypes are included.
  • Seniority. Who actually designs your screens, not who pitches.
  • Two languages. A bilingual Arabic and English product needs layouts that mirror, Arabic type that works and testing in both directions. Done properly, it is real extra work; done badly, it costs more later. Our guide to Arabic and RTL interface design explains what is involved.
  • Regulated flows. Fintech and proptech products need careful onboarding, identity checks and consent screens.
  • Build. Some quotes include front-end development; many do not.

How a trial week compares

We price differently on purpose. Every project with us starts with a paid trial week, USD 1,500 (AED 5,510), on a real piece of your product, with first designs inside 48 hours. If the week works, you get a full scope and one fixed quote for the rest; if it does not, you keep everything we made. It lets you judge the quality and pace before you commit to a larger budget. You can see how we work with Dubai startups.

How to get a quote you can trust

  1. Write down the flows you need, not just "an app": sign up, onboarding, the core task, payments, settings.
  2. Say whether Arabic is needed now or later, and whether it should be designed first.
  3. Ask who will do the design, and see their own work.
  4. Ask what is included: research, prototypes, a design system, handoff, revisions.
  5. Ask for a fixed price for a defined scope, rather than an open hourly estimate.
  6. Start small: a paid first step shows you more than any proposal.

Sources and method

We collected public figures on 1 and 2 October 2026. Where a source only showed a summary, we say so. Convert at AED 3.6725 to USD 1.
