Product designer in London, United Kingdom
Product designer in London for fintech, SaaS and AI products
If you need a product designer in London who has designed fintech, SaaS and AI products, I'm Maniruzzaman Jubayer, and I work from Dhaka with my team. We share 5 hours of your working day, and I design for the rules your users meet, from the FCA's Consumer Duty to WCAG 2.2 AA.
Under the Consumer Duty, a screen people understand is part of compliance, not polish on top.

Product designer and design lead, with a senior team behind me
What makes product design in London hard
Many of your customers already bank with Monzo, Revolut or Wise. They expect that standard from you, and the regulators expect more again.

Problem 01
The FCA wants proof that people understood
The Consumer Duty asks firms to give customers information they can understand, and to test communications where the decision matters. Many product teams have little evidence of that. I design the key disclosures and decision screens, then test them with real users, so you have findings to show.

Problem 02
Open Banking consent loses people
Your screen, the bank's consent page, the authentication, the trip back into your app: every hop is a chance to drop off. I design the whole journey around the Open Banking customer experience guidelines, so people know what they share, where they are going and why.

Problem 03
Your users have seen the best apps already
Londoners judge your product against the slickest banking and AI apps on their phone, not against your direct rivals. I set a high bar for onboarding, empty states and error messages, and hold it through a design system your developers can reuse on every release.

Problem 04
Senior design hires are slow
A senior product designer in London is hard to find and slow to hire, and every month without one stalls the roadmap. I can start within days of an agreed scope, and my team adds research and front-end build when the work needs more hands.
Fintech, SaaS and health products I designed
A real-time sales CRM, an AI personal finance dashboard and a healthcare SaaS for booking doctors, designed with my team.

Industries London is building, and what they need
Dealroom's 2026 index puts London back on top in Europe, with 138 unicorns. Here is what each sector asks of its product design in the UK.

Banking and payments
Open Banking in the UK has passed a billion payments. Products built on it need consent, redirect and confirmation screens that feel as calm as the bank app your customer already trusts.

Wealth and personal finance
Investment and money apps answer to the Consumer Duty's consumer understanding outcome. Risk, fees and performance have to be clear at the moment of decision, and tested with real customers.

B2B SaaS
Dealroom ranks London third among metro regions for SaaS venture funding in 2025. Enterprise buyers judge admin, permissions and reporting screens as closely as the demo, so those get designed first.

AI products
AI investment in London almost doubled in 2025, to about $7 billion. The products that last show their sources, admit uncertainty and let people correct the output. My notes on AI features people trust.

Health and life sciences
London life sciences drew $2.1 billion of venture funding in 2025 by November, over half of it to companies using AI. Patient and clinician tools need plain language, accessible forms and careful consent.

Energy and EV charging
Dealroom finds the UK over-indexes in energy startups. Charging and energy apps need live status, maps and payments that still work at the roadside, on one bar of signal, in the rain.
How I work with your London team
Remote from Dhaka, with real overlap and nothing left unwritten.
No account managers in between
There are no account managers. You speak to me and to the designers and developers doing the work, in one Slack channel and on the same calls, so every question reaches someone who can answer it.
Your morning, my afternoon
Dhaka is five hours ahead of London in BST and six in GMT, so we share 5 hours of your Monday to Friday. By the time you open Slack, my day is already a few hours old, and last night's comments are often already in the designs.
Everything written and tracked
Designs live in Figma, decisions in writing and progress in Slack updates every 48 hours, with a weekly call. Your compliance and engineering leads can follow every change without sitting in every meeting.
I know the UK market
I design for the rules your users meet: the Consumer Duty, Open Banking, UK GDPR and the ICO's cookie guidance, and the Equality Act's expectation of accessible services. Your legal team still owns the final wording.

Who I help in London
Four kinds of London teams I am set up to help.
Funded fintech and SaaS startups
Seed to Series B teams with a product in market and a roadmap that has outgrown the first designer. I bring a senior lead and a team for the next release, without adding to headcount.
Scale-ups selling to enterprise
Companies moving from early adopters to banks, insurers and large employers. I redesign admin, permissions and reporting so the product survives a procurement review and a security questionnaire.
Regulated firms and public services
FCA-authorised firms, and teams building to the GOV.UK Service Standard, where WCAG 2.2 AA and tested, plain English content are part of the brief rather than extras at the end.
Teams launching in the UK
Companies from Europe, the US or the Gulf bringing a product to British users. I adapt onboarding, consent and payments to UK expectations before launch, not after the first complaints.
Other services for London teams
A London launch usually needs a site and a mobile app that match the product.
Words from clients I have designed with
Working with Jubayer and the team has been a blast. Their creativity has honestly taken our platform to new heights. Incredibly professional and so proud to work with, we’re over the moon with their results, and we can’t wait to team up with them again.

I highly recommend Jubayer for any design project. He quickly grasps complex concepts, excels in standard design practices, and responds promptly.

Working with Jubayer on our website was fantastic from start to finish. He took the time to understand our vision and provided valuable insights.

Product design in London: frequently asked questions
Straight answers on UK rules, shared hours and how a London project runs.
What does a product designer in London cost?
It depends on how many flows the product needs, how much research and user testing we run, how many regulated screens need extra review, and whether my team builds the front end. After a free 30 minute intro call I write a scope and give you one fixed quote for the whole project. You will not see a retainer or an hourly invoice.
Can you design for the FCA's Consumer Duty?
Yes. I design disclosures, fee screens and decision points so customers can understand them, then test those screens with users, which gives you evidence for the consumer understanding outcome. The Duty has applied to products open to sale since 31 July 2023. Your compliance team decides what the rules require; I make it clear on screen.
Do you design Open Banking journeys?
Yes. I design account linking and payment journeys from your screen, through the bank's consent and authentication, and back again, with the Open Banking customer experience guidelines as the reference. The integration runs through your regulated provider. My part is making sure people understand each step and know what happens when something fails.
Can you design to the GOV.UK Service Standard?
Yes. I use the Service Standard and the GOV.UK Design System as the bar for usability: understand users, keep the service simple, and make sure everyone can use it. GOV.UK services must meet WCAG 2.2 AA, and I design to that level for private products too, with notes your developers can test against.
What do cookie banners need under UK law now?
Since the Data (Use and Access) Act, some analytics can run without opt-in consent, as long as people get clear information and a simple, free way to object. Advertising and cross-site tracking still need consent. I design banners and privacy settings around the ICO's April 2026 guidance, and your privacy lead confirms the set-up.
Do you design AI features for UK customers?
Yes. I design AI features that show their sources, admit uncertainty and let people correct or undo the output, which matters most when the product touches money or health. For FCA-regulated products I treat what the AI tells customers like any other communication: clear, tested with users and signed off by your compliance team.
Do the clock changes affect our calls?
A little. Bangladesh keeps the same time all year, so Dhaka is five hours ahead of London in British Summer Time and six in GMT. When the clocks go back on 25 October 2026, our shared window shrinks by an hour, so we agree any change to recurring calls before the clocks move.
Do you have an office in London?
No. I'm based in Dhaka and work remotely with London teams, and I will not pretend otherwise with a borrowed address. Everything runs through Google Meet, Slack and shared Figma files, booked in London time. Most product work never needs a room, and the written record it leaves is easier for your compliance and engineering leads to check.
How do we start a London project?
Book a free 30 minute intro call in London time. Bring the screen that worries you most, whether that is a disclosure, an Open Banking step or an onboarding drop-off, and I will tell you on the call how I would approach it. The written scope and one fixed quote follow after the call.
